reliable source for job growth and employment statistics?

Hello,

Does anyone have any suggestions for the best websites to obtain city job growth and employment statistics? Sperling's bestcities.net offers those statistics but they were last updated December 2016. Neighborhoods Scout offers  a lot of community information but not hard job growth or employment statistics. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Patrick

Patrick,

In my experience, accurate and reliable employment growth/unemployment statistics are not collected at the municipal level.  However, the Bureau of Labor Statistics does compile this information on a metro area level, see the link here:   https://www.bls.gov/eag/

Hope that helps.

Many local city websites may have that. Bureau of Labor Statistics has it. Also, CoStar and Axiometrics keeps a tight watch on that stuff.

Thanks Todd. Of the ones you mentioned, which is your go-to source when you are researching  employmentand job growth in a city in which you are considering investing?
