Online resources for researching markets

What online resources do you find most effective and accurate when evaluating new markets and sub-markets or level one research as Ken McElroy would say?

Some that I am currently using are city-data.com, bestplaces.net, local government web sites, and the various features on Trulia, Zillow, Redfin, LoopNet, and Google Earth.

@Hobie Day you've hit the main sites that I've used.  I also use American FactFinder.  But I also review on-line industry news like MultiHousing News and Bisnow Commercial Real Estate.  And for sub-markets especially, also look for local sources of real estate market news.
