New construction building questions
Hi everyone. I'm looking for some insight from those with experience building new construction SFH. I'm looking to buy a piece of land in a suburb outside of Chicago. Without going and getting quotes from subs, what is a fair cost per sqft range. I'm building a house for myself because our market is too hot to buy in and I'm thinking I can build cheaper than it is to buy.
Im thinking of something around 3,200 sqft without lavish finishes. At least nice hardwood floors, not a high end kitchen but nice, and not finishing the basement. My brother is a project manager and a commercial construction company so I'm thinking between me and him, we will be the project managers so we don't have to hire a builder.
What are your thoughts?
