Do I need multiple Home Insurance for new home?

Hi BP, I'm in the middle of closing on a home in new construction. I just received an insurance quote that covers half the purchase price. There is a reoccurring theme that insurance companies limit is $350k when I would like the entire loan covered. Is it common or uncommon to have multiple home insurance to cover the entire cost of your home in the event a big disaster happens? Cheers!
