House Flipper wanting to do new custom homes

Manuel Holguin
Posted

I am currently a house flipper in El Paso, TX. I have been thinking of getting into new custom homes and trac homes. I already have a company that will finance the lots and the build and i habe built custom homes for clients with their own land before. I want to see where do i purchase the lots? I have heard different people saying that lots are assigned and others saying that you have to buy a certain amount. But where do i go to get on the lost or who do we buy lots from?

Hello. As a contractor here in Florida I can give you a general guideline. To find land, easiest way is a simple google research such as “land for sale El Paso texas” and im confident you will land in pages from sellers of land. The issue in not necessarily finding land but getting the right type of land, the right size of land and at a reasonable price so it makes sense to develop the land.
Once you see a piece of land attractive to you, call sellers and ask all the questions you have as they may already have the answers (for example: which municipalities you have to go for permitting, how much of the land is buildable, any restrictions, etc...).

Once that is done, go to the building department and share with them your plans to build and what will be required from you to make your vision come true.
