Foreclosure Auction

I have been looking on Zillow and have seen several houses that are listed as a foreclosure auction that are valued well-below other similar houses. I'm sure the price will increase a good bit because it is an auction, but what is the general consensus in regards to buying through a foreclosure auction? Worth spending the time to look into or not?
