Is adding a vinyl or wood fence worth the return on investment?

I am considering installing a fence to my backyard. I would only like to do it however if I will see the return in my appraisal. What are your thoughts. Is it a good investment to get a good return on the investment or should I skip it because this will be a rental property in the next couple months?

I would say this adds to curb appeal and desirability.

benefiting renters with pets, children, or those that desire privacy. Not sure there is an actual measurable ROI for a fence (could be I am no expert) but it may help the home find and maintain a tenant.

I think it almost always adds value. Privacy and safety. Good for pets and kids. How about chain link?

It might make it easier to sell but if it adds anything to appraised value it will be less than the cost of the fence.
