Best Book Recommendations
Hey everyone,
I am a soon-to-be grad with a bachelor's degree in marketing and I have accepted a position with a Real Estate investing firm. The problem is I don't know much about real estate and I was looking for some recommendations of good books to explain the basics of residential real estate. Thank you in advance for your recommendations!
BiggerPockets has a variety of great books for different types of involvement in real estate. You might also consider taking a course and getting a textbook as if you were studying for a real estate license.
Geometry and Algebra...and I'm dead serious.
@Karna Patel The ABC's of Real Estate Investing by Ken McElroy
Sold by David Greene is a great book that breaks down the entire process.
I agree with @Kevin Paulk, the ABC's of RE Investing by Ken McElroy has a lot of great information

I never even thought of pretending to study for a real estate license. It would be a great way to learn all of the foundational information I need.

It couldn't hurt to brush up on some math!

Thanks, Kevin! That sounds like exactly what I'm looking for!

Thanks for backing the book as well I'll make sure to read it first!
Quote from @Karna Patel:Actually, these are the two most important books you will bring into your REI career. REI is nothing more than math,...numbers with $$$ in front (not %%% behind). Both books are equally important. Your understanding of how both of these books relates to REI, and how they are both applied to REI, will be critical to your success.

Welcome Karna! Check out bookstore! BP publishes 8-10 new real estate books per year; you'll likely find something for every subject you're interested in. As a rookie, I recommend you check out our curated collection of books for beginners!

and Dave Ramsey's Total Money makeover. Not strictly on real estate but the perspective of money helps!
Most Agents I have met call this the real estate agent bible! The guy who wrote it is one of the founders of Keller Williams. I am about to read it myself as I just became an agent in October!
The Millionaire Real Estate Agent - by Gary Keller (The Red Book)
The Millionaire Real Estate Investor - by Gary Keller (The Blue Book)
I wish you the best on your real estate career! Take Care,
Sold by David Greene is also very good also as @Daniel Lussier commented above!
Congratulations and welcome to community sir!
There are a TON of books out there about investing in properties but I recommend that you continue to educate yourself on the basics of marketing and sales as well. Any of the books authored by the Bigger Pockets team with their co-writers, including myself, will do just fine.
What exactly will you be doing with your new firm? That will help me point you in the right direction.
