House Hack questions

I am currently house hacking a four plex. I want to get a duplex next but have a couple questions. I’ll profit roughly 400-600 from the four plex. What should I look to pay for living in a duplex? If I pay half is that okay? Or look for something where they pay closer to 3/4 of the mortgage?
