Umbrella Policy

I am looking into becomeing incoporated, but for now i just want to get an umbrella policy to protect myself. My question is that my agent said i need to buy one for each state i own a property. Does anyone offer a general policy to cover me no matter where my property resides? If it helps i own property in three different states and i live in california.
