So just after signing papers with new tenants who I agreed to one pet with I was immediately hit with a letter effectively stating that they would also be bringing in an emotional support animal. This is a group of 4 tenants so apparently the plan was to get me agree to the one non-support animal and then force my hand on the second. I'm not going to get myself in hot water here, so I'll simply accept it and move on, but I am curious if anyone has dealt with this situation before, and if so is it legal for a tenant to do this? It certainly doesn't make me feel great about the lease I just signed since they intentionally hid information from me. General thoughts or ideas on this? How would you feel about this as a landlord?
