My partner and I specialize in real estate law, business law, and estate planning in Texas. We are also investors in the Houston market. By way of introduction, we would love to answer any of your questions regarding Texas law. We enjoy teaching and discussing real estate. Since this is a public forum, any advice is general information, if you want a more in depth answer, feel free to reach me.

Hi Nancy, welcome to BP. You'll definitely want to be more specific in the types of real estate law you focus on. We have a broad range of investors on here. I'm in Dallas and do commercial transactions!

Hi Nancy, thanks for posting.

My cousins and I are new to investing and getting ready to form an LLC to begin acquiring our first properties.
Wondering if you recommend finding a real estate attorney and CPA that is local to us, or someone more knowledgable in the state we are investing in? (Most likely Texas to start)

There are two components, you'll want a RE attorney in the state your property is located for investment and management, structuring. You typically only need tax planning from a state you are located in.
