Capital Gains Tax on Real Estate

I’m curious if capital gains on real estate work the same way as capital gains on equity investments. From my understanding, if an individual has an AGI of less than +/- $80K, cap gains from equity investments tax exempt. Does one’s AGI exempt them from real estate capital gains in any way?

I know where you are coming from. All the cap gain works the same way. Yes, if you don’t have any other income(W-2 and such), the cap gain up to 80k is taxed at 0%.

But if you have let’s say 100k w-2 income, your cap gain is going to be taxed even if your cap gain is way less than 80k.
