Needed NOW: Leasing Consultant/Office Assistant for a growing and busy Real Estate/Property Management Company

We are seeking a super-organized multi-tasker and Leasing Specialist who's full of ideas and always implementing new strategies to make the most out of our Real Estate Company.

We are organized and detail oriented, so we need you to be. No pressure. We will assist and train you to be the Leasing Super Hero you’ve always dreamed of being.

We have a very important role in the real estate businesses, which we have grown exponentially this year, and show no signs of slowing:

Our goals in this business:

1. Leasing and showing to qualified rental prospects.

2. Taking care of our residents and rental properties.

3. Creating and being consistent with structure, rules, and regulations.

4. To be the Leasing Super Hero and assist in any office related tasks.

5. Be a part of the best team in property management while providing cheerful, quick, and friendly service!

If you function best in a predictable environment doing the same routine tasks over and over again, this is NOT the job for you. However, if you thrive on variety, new tasks, solving problems, and generally bringing order to chaos, you'll be in the right place.

You'll need to be a fast learner; you won't always know exactly how something should be done or even what you should be doing. You need to be willing to ask when that happens, because we may not notice you're struggling.

We're not always in the office, so you need to be good at prioritizing and managing your time.

We do a lot electronically, and will be doing more. You need to be very comfortable with technology.

Most of all, you have to be flexible. Consider the job description to be "Anything that needs to be done".

The company is a small business. They don't pay for our health insurance, or 401k, and they can't pay for yours either.

Reliable transportation is a MUST. We have rental properties in Dayton and the surrounding areas (don’t worry – not too far).

Our office is in our home, and will remain there for the foreseeable future. There are occasionally dogs, and children, and who knows who or what else that may occasionally visit. If you don't like dogs (or children), you won't like it here.

We do visit some rough neighborhoods occasionally, so concealed carry permits are the norm, and there may be guns around. If that's going to freak you out, don't apply.

You won't get a pat on the back nearly as much as you deserve, so if praise (or, for that matter, constant supervision) is important to you, this isn't the job for you.

So, you may be asking yourself, "what are the upsides?", if you've bothered to read this far...

Well, for starters, you can rise up as far as your work, loyalty, and talent allows. You will have the choice to take on more responsibility and move up. We're not looking for someone who wants to fill a chair at a desk for a while and then move on; we're looking for someone long term, who wants to become a highly valued and compensated member of a growing team.

The way we'll all know that you're doing is good job is that these businesses GROW, and make more money; when they do, you will too. (And now, is a great time to jump on the train.)

This isn't corporate America--as long as you dress professionally for the few formal events, we couldn't care less if you wear jeans into the office and while showing properties.

If you need to leave work at 3:30 for a dentist's appointment, it's not a problem, as long as you tell us a head of time. We get it, dental health is important. As is your kid's scout troop meeting, your concert tickets, and whatever else you have going on. As long as you don't abuse it, we're all for flextime.

Working for a small business definitely isn't for everyone, but if it sounds like it could be for you, send over a resume, including salary requirement, and a quick paragraph of why you would excel in this position.

To reiterate, you must be:

  • Extremely organized, yet able to work with people who aren't
  • Detail-oriented
  • A good problem solver
  • Able to self-manage and prioritize your time
  • Cheerful & positive
  • Good with people
  • Be consistent
  • Be okay with the office dogs
  • Good with computers/marketing/social media
  • Willing and able to work some weekends or evenings
  • Endlessly patient
  • Flexible and willing to do whatever is needed (that's also safe and legal) to help grow the businesses and aid in keeping the office sane in this growing business

If there's ANYONE out there who meets this description, please come work for us immediately. We need you.

To Apply:

Send a resume and cover letter in pdf format to [email protected] with the subject: "Leasing Super Hero Job: YOUR NAME." In your cover letter, tell us four things:

  • 1.Let us know why you have what it takes
  • 2.Describe why you want to work with us and why we can trust you to get the job done
  • 3.Compensation desired, and why you're worth it
  • 4.Describe the last 2 bosses you had and explain why you liked, and disliked, working for them
