Burkle's thoughts on Sacramento, "We love the city and the fans are great .... The mayor has really worked to make this a great partnership and I’m excited to be part of it.”
“This larger purchase creates endless possibilities for expediting the build-out of the railyard,” Mayor Darrell Steinberg said, comparing it to the Downtown Commons entertainment complex taking shape around Golden 1 Center.
The proposed soccer stadium is one of several projects planned for the 240-acre former railyard:
* MAJOR LEAGUE SOCCER STADIUM
* KAISER PERMANENTE HOSPITAL
* CENTRAL SHOPS DISTRICT
* RESIDENTIAL HOUSING
