QOTW: What is your “Why” for investing?
Thank you to everyone that has shared their thoughts in the question of the week so far! As the Community Engagement Specialist for BiggerPockets, I love to see how diverse real estate can be. Being so different, we all have different motivations for our "Why". Let's talk about yours! What is it now, has it always been that way, or did your mindset shift? What do you think caused that shift? How are your action working to reinforce your why?

To reach financial independence, live my best life, and leave a legacy

Agreed. Financial stability is huge for the health of the family. I too am working to get this accomplished through real estate as a tool to ensure financial stability for my family now and to leave as a gift/tool for my kids and their children

Thank you so much for this. Beautiful perspective and insight here. Love your reasoning and hope you get there sooner than you think

Family. That is where it’s at
I am a realtor in NY and a dad to a 4 year old. So I want my daughter to have that head start That I did not have. I want to create long term wealth for her and my family generations to come. So I'm here to connect and learn everything from the ground up.
Great question!
Legacy. Having kids opened my eyes to this. My "whys" are all centered around my family and other's families.
To be able to spend more time with my wife and two kids while the kids are young
To leave something for them as they (and we) get older.
To be able to take care of our aging mothers.
To build wealth, so we never have to worry about money from a 9-5.
To add value to properties and to other family's lives
I hope my kids will want to take over someday.
