How should I begin to create a property management system that will apply for small and large multifamily properties? I do not want to use a property management company until I have more units but I'd like to self manage until then. What are good programs, spreadsheets, etc. I'm creating a property management business from the ground up and would like to know what are necessities.

@Michael Williams depends on how fast you think you will grow.

Could start out with spreadsheets and GoogleVoice number.

Then add Quickbooks

Then replace it all with a property management software.

Of course, you can also skip steps.

If you're looking to market your listings on your web site, check out www.myownmls.com

It's a mobile app and a web plugin for Squarespace websites (pretty sites, quick and easy to build!). You create listings for your properties in the app, then they post right to your site. Take pics, ad videos, etc. Great for marketing homes and cheap.
