Renter vacated with rent due

Any suggestions to collect  past rent due ?

The tenant vacated now.

if they don’t pay with regular notice I’m thinking about going thru collections.

Hopefully there’s some left over security deposit to pay it? Small claims court? Get a judgement an attach their paycheck? Hopefully we’re talking about thousands of dollars, enough to make it worth not just forgetting about.
