Recently ran into an issue and now looking for the solution from the BP community. How do emergency crews, ambulance, police, etc access the entrances to your apartment buildings? One of our Tennants called for an ambulance and EMT could not get in. Luckily everything turned out ok, however it made us realize we hadn't anticipated this and I can't find anything from anyone who has. Thank you for any and all replys in advance.
One city I have a property in requires all multi unit owners to purchase a key lock box from the fire department, and then have a key to the door in it. It is mounted next to the front door of the building. The fire department has a key to the lock box, and can get in in the case of an emergency. The lock box is about $250.00, and if you don't have it, will cause you to fail your yearly inspection.
