I have a tenant moving out soon. When doing the walk through we noticed there was a steady leak at the kitchen sink that the tenant did not report. This resulted in having to replace the cabinet. I believe this damage is due to tenant negligence and am considering withholding a portion of the security deposit. Does this seem fair?
If you have language in your lease regarding this, or something has been established in the landlord tenant code, you should be fine, if not, lesson learned
