Sharing Credit Reports with Tenants

I have a potential tenant lined up that is asking for a copy of their credit report that I pulled. Is there any reason not to give it to them? If it makes any difference the tenant is extremely qualified and there is nothing on the report that would disqualify.

if prospective does not lease with you ---- don't share a copy of the report with him. He can use it when he looks at another rental. He is looking for something free. Protect yourself.

You may not share the contents with anyone other than the person/entity that had permission to pull the report.  Not with the subject, nor with any one else.  That is a violation of Fair Credit Reporting Act.

The subject (tenant applicant) can pull their own report, often for free, definitely for free if credit was a determining cause of their denial.
