My Next Adventure: Opening A Brokerage And PM Company

I sold my class III firearms business last year and in 2020 I didn't do much except try to survive! This year has been unusually tough for many and I am in that category. Now my next adventure is opening a RE brokerage and PM company. For me this is a large step. I have never operated in a broker capacity. I live in Naples Florida and plan on acquiring PM accounts in Naples before attempting to branch out. We have many high dollar properties in this market. I am 65 and some people have said I am NUTS for wanting to open a PM company at this age. IF I believe I made a horrible mistake, I can always close it. Right? Anyways, starting from scratch, give me your thoughts on this idea. Also, do's and don'ts, suggestions for setting up the company, helpful websites, etc. Any and all comments welcome even if they are one lines such as "are you NUTS?"

See if there is a local real estate club in your area. Then see if they have vendors and sign up as one. Either way market to this group and come in a little lower on the fees than everyone else to try and steal business from your competitors who are PM's. You could also market to the STR PM customers.
