Monthly meetings are held to network and learn from local investors and industry professionals about real estate investing. Meeting are held on the second Tuesday of the month at 6pm. Our speaker starts at 6:30pm and generally wrap up about 7:45pm with many in the group staying to network until 8:30pm or later.

Tax Depreciation, 1031 Exchanges & Rental Accounting - Shelby Green, CPA & John Brewer, CPA

Join us Tuesday, November 8th at 6 PM.

You still have time for tax planning in 2022, so we thought it would be great to have accountants join us to review what you need to know as real estate investors. Please join us on Tuesday, November 8th to hear Shelby & John present what you need to know about accounting as a investment property owner. They will be reviewing important topics such as capital expenditures vs expenses, depreciation, investment property, vacation home & STR deductions and the basics of 1031 exchanges.

Shelby Green and John Brewer are both CPAs with Kernutt Stokes, a regional accounting firm with four offices in Oregon. John joined Kernutt Stokes in 2013 and currently serves as a tax manager in the firm’s tax department. John currently resides in Salem, OR with his wife, McKenna. John likes to spend his time pursuing a variety of hobbies, including cooking, hiking, camping, sports and photography. Shelby Green is a graduate of WOU. She worked as a staff accountant for a healthcare provider for five years and now works at Kernutt Stokes as a Senior Tax Associate. Shelby lives in Salem and spends free time volunteering with groups like the Corvallis Young Professionals.

Please arrive between 6-6:30pm. At 6:30, Ryan will give a brief market update and then hand the floor to Shelby & John. Bring questions! Afterwards, we have the facility until about 8:30 to continue networking and discussing real estate investing. We look forward to seeing you all there. Our meetings will continue on the 2nd Tuesday of the month so make it a recurring appointment in your calendar with 12/13 & 1/10 as our next meetings.
