Mathew J. Atkinson started his career in real estate over 10 years ago and has been investing for over 9 years. He has accumulated 25,500 hours of real estate experience–nearly 7 years round the clock. Matt has also personally invested 1.25 million dollars in rehabbing properties. In the last 36 months, Matt has coached and educated over 200 investors through his mentoring programs and workshops. He has turned this background into a proven, comprehensive system for real estate investing.
Initially, he brought his years of telecommunications sales experience to the real estate finance industry. Matt is now a partner with Flagship Financial Partners, a division of Flagship Financial Group and he specializes in national VA mortgage lending. He has closed on over 16 million dollars in transactions.
Working in real property finance for over a decade, Matt has successfully navigated numerous economic cycles. He has seen first hand markets rise and fall and homeowners in every financial condition. He soon realized that strategies have to fluctuate just like the markets do. Matt then began to utilize this knowledge to invest in real estate himself.
Matt purchased his first investment property in 2004, a single-family home through a short sale, which is rental unit he still owns today. However, he also over-improved the property, put too much money into it and mismanaged his tenants. He learned the struggles of having a full-time job and being a landlord. This did not deter him. He continued purchasing rental units and then hired a property management company. He learned how to effectively utilize other industry professionals to increase his profitability. Matt then became addicted and now owns over 50 rental properties personally and with partners.
He also has extensive experience in flipping properties. After making only $500 on his first project, he reevaluated the strategies others were using. He learned how to effectively buy the property, get the most bang for his buck during the remodel and how to price the home for the quickest and most profitable return.
Through trial and error, success and failure, Matt has not only learned the ropes of real estate investing, but created new, proven strategies. And he has helped many others have the same success. After 18 months developing his mentoring program, he now shares his experience and strategies with select clients helping them create the same success!

Trevor Thompson, Client Coordinator
Trevor Thompson is a Utah native, and has spent most of his life and career in the Salt Lake Valley. Trevor began his career in 2005 as a licensed real estate agent. He was honored to be Rookie of the Year in 2007 and has exemplified the same commitment, integrity and hard work ever since. Trevor has participated in over 100 real estate transactions ranging from single family residences and condominiums, new construction, raw land, commercial property, and hotel development. Trevor has closed real estate transactions in an ever widening sphere. From Ogden to St. George, and from Heber to Tooele, he is not opposed to following the needs of his clients. He has been a Trustee of Leadership UAR, and also served on the Governmental Affairs committee with UAR, and the Salt Lake Board of Realtors for 3 years. Trevor has worked in many trades in the process of learning the housing market that are now useful to him in his investing. Carpentry and cabinetry, Low voltage wiring and electronics, and plumbing repair. Trevor also lived in Costa Rica for 2 years and speaks Spanish.
