Topic: Do you know what the difference is between owning a business and owning a job?

The difference is, when you own a job and take time off or go on vacation, your income stops. When you own a business and take time off or go on vacation, you still continue to make money. A business can operate without you, a job cannot.

What is necessary to create the conditions that it takes to stop owning a job and start owning a business? The answer is systems and process automation. Most importantly, designing systems and automation that are both efficient, effective and, in most cases, automated. At the meeting, we will discuss the methodology behind properly designing business systems as well as some keys for automation and when to–and not to–automate business processes. We will also discuss outsourcing non-essential functions as well as demonstrate a system that is guaranteed to enhance your productivity.

Presenter: Michael Finley

Michael Finley is an entrepreneur, former Infantry Marine, member of the Delta Mu Delta International Business Honor Society, Iraq War Veteran, VFW Member, Ancient Free and Accepted Mason, and MBA. He currently utilizes systemization, automation, and outsourcing in his residential renovation business that he contributes to the rapid success that he has had over the past 14 months. He also consults with other entrepreneurs on techniques to develop efficient and automated business systems that allow entrepreneurs to focus on their “highest and best use of their time” saving them from the monotonousness administrative and marketing tasks that often stop potentially successful entrepreneurial ventures from gaining the traction that they require to grow to their potential, through process and automation design and outsourcing techniques.

Schedule of events for the SWFL REIA General Meeting

6:00 Doors Open/Networking
6:05-6:25 Speed Networking** Here is your chance to meet everyone in the room! Limited to first 40!

What is speed networking?

Speed networking (or speed business meeting) is a meeting format designed to accelerate business contacts. Primarily, the practice involves multiple people that gather in a single space in order to exchange information.

Participants will have 45 seconds to speak to every single person doing speed networking! That means you’ll get the chance to network with 49 other like-minded individuals in under 1 hour! The first 50 attendees who arrive will take a seat in one of the 50 chairs lined up. When the timer begins you’ll each have 45 seconds to introduce yourself to person across from you and to give them your best elevator pitch. When the time ends everyone will rotate down a seat and the timer will restart.

Networking can sometimes be awkward. This is a fun way to take the awkwardness out of the equation and to meet 49 other connections! Think of this as speed dating, but instead of meeting potential suitors your meeting potential business partners! This is a fast paced networking strategy so bring any information you’d like to hand out and make sure to have plenty of business cards handy! Since this is such a short time to network with each person exchanging business cards is a way to continue the conversation! Arrive early so you can join in on the fun!
