Don't get stuck on a real estate investment island ... If you would like to learn and network with some of the best and brightest real estate investors in the greater Philadelphia area, I would invite you to attend a Diversified Real Estate Investor Group meeting. As a first-time visitor, attendance at the meeting is FREE. It's a great way to learn more about our organization before committing to membership. We meet on the fourth Thursday of the month from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Talamore Country Club Clubhouse, 723 Talamore Road, in Ambler. (Our next meeting is Oct. 26).
What can you expect at a DIG meeting?
Genius Bar:
Beginning at 6 p.m., our Genius Bar is the place to have all of your burning real estate investment questions answered. Two DIG members will be on hand to answer your questions or direct you to someone who can.
Round Groups:
From 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., meeting attendees can participate in a variety of round groups with topics ranging from real estate law to landlording, foreclosures, rehabbing, rentals and everything in between. A DIG member will moderate these sessions in a Q&A format.
Steals and Deals:
Hear from DIG members about real estate deals they have to share from 7 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Guest Speaker/Panel Discussion:
Our guest speakers change from meeting to meeting, with topics ranging from wholesaling, to automation, flipping and more. Talks run fro 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. At our Oct. 26 meeting, DIG is pleased to welcome BiggerPockets.com blogger and long-time DIG member, Dave Van Horn. Dave will lead a discussion on “Note Investing Strategies for the Everyday Real Estate Investor.”
His talk will feature real-life anecdotes on his accomplishments, as well as how he became a millionaire. The discussion will serve as an introduction to note investing and his book of the same title, which is still a work in progress. Van Horn has more than 30 years of residential and commercial real estate experience as a realtor, investor and fundraiser. He successfully raised more than $100 million for both notes and commercial real estate.
In his talk, he will share various strategies of how investors can use notes to:
- Build wealth
- Pay for college
- Buy/sell a house
- Leverage equity
- Pay off a mortgage in one-third of the time without changing income
