CONFIRMED TIME. This will be the second meeting on the tenant's bill of rights. The ordinance was held in committee and should be voted on at this meeting. Show up to voice your opinion and explain how this bill of rights will hurt affordable housing in KC

You need to be there early as KC Tenants don't expect any opposition so they plan on flooding the room and taking over testimony.

Thank you for all you're doing Kim! We definitely appreciate the effort and I will be there.

Thanks for all you are doing. These activists are well organized and unreasonable in their demands. The "Housing is a Right" premise is fundamentally flawed. Shelter is a need, just like food, water and air are needs.  Just because food is a need, we don't have the right to go to the best restaurant in town and demand that they feed us at an affordable (for us) price. The private property rights need to take precedence so that people are willing to invest in providing housing. The neighbors at my rentals need me to be able to screen tenants. If someone can't pass a screening, they need to clean up their act, move in with family, get someone to co-sign and make good on the obligations, or hope that the tax payers will foot the bill for them in public housing.  They have no right to my property - beyond the rights in a lease that I am willing to give them in exchange for their performance.

KC has a strong investment community. So glad you have given all this information Kim. Thank you. It’s unfortunate there would even need to be this defense of rights. Looking forward to the meeting.

OFFICIAL: Wednesday Meeting at City Hall postponed until December 2nd.

What an awesome and productive day! We met with Mayor Lucas Counsel as well as several city council members! During that time we were notified that our council meeting event for tomorrow has been postponed! The new date and time is 5 pm Monday Dec 2, 2019. We will get info out as soon as we know more. Keep the positive messaging and solution providing coming! The job is far from done. The great thing is that KC is onto something big...our collaboration will be a great role model for other cities!

Your efforts had success. The committee heard your message. But they have only postponed, so we still need you to do the three things we have been asking and stay professional!
