Join us Tuesday, December 10th for our ever-popular Speed Networking Event to Benefit Toys for Tots.
We ask all to bring a new unwrapped toy or to make a cash donation. Can't make the event but want to donate, we have a funding page at www.MAREI.org/Toys
All participants in the speed networking will get 90 Seconds to share their pitch with about 35 people over our 2-hour speed networking from 7 to 9 pm. Join us at 6 pm to talk to our Amazing Sponsors and for Open Networking.
We suggest bringing the following:
A Basket or Bag to Collect Things
Your Water Bottle in Your Bag (this is Thirsty Work)
Flyers, Brochures or Business Cards
Felt Tip Pen to Write Notes on Items Received
And a Well Practiced Elevator Pitch
This event is open to MAREI Members, their Guests, and the General Public. It is FREE to Register, but we will be asking for 1 New Unwrapped Toy or a $10 or More Cash Donation at the Door. Last year’s event collected 116 toys and $700 in Cash.
If you would like to volunteer to help us make this event even more amazing than last year please email [email protected] Looking for Volunteers to collect toys, collect cash donations, greet people and to direct traffic.
Please be sure to RSVP so we can make sure we have enough seats and space. (http://www.MAREI.org)
Can't attend, join us in raising funds for Toys for Tots online at www.MAREI.org/Toys
Speed Networking Tip: Do some homework in advance so you know what you want to say: You have a very limited 2 minutes to get your point across, and not a lot of time for writing things down, so having a business card or flyer with your basic message on it as well that you can hand over is always helpful

We're speed networking at the meeting in December, today's blog post gives you a good idea of what that actually means:

Do you have your pitch down? Here are some tips on a good elevator pitch to use at the Speed Networking on Tuesday or in conversation with City Council Members any time you call them this week. Just be sure to use different pitches: one to grow your business and one to protect your business. See you at both this week.
Do you have a circle of influencers who might help you grow your business? Need more? Come Speed Network Tonight at MAREI - 12/10 at the Holiday Inn - 8787 Reeder Road, Overland Park, KS - Only cost is a donation to Toys for Tots. Doors open at 6, Speed Networking starts at 7.
We have a totally AMAZING group of people here in Kansas City - despite the flu going around and an entire highway being closed for 3 miles, everyone still came out (those who were healthy anyway) and brought a lot of joy to a lot of kids lives this Christmas. We collected $450 in cash type donations and 76 BIG Toys.
We are still collecting - we are up to $100 more online - if you would like to participate with us - please go to www.MAREI.org/Toys to make a donation so a few more Kansas City kids get a Christmas this year. They always need the cash for the older kids as we all seem to gravitate to toys for the little ones.
