Discussion: Corporate Entity Formation for Liability Protection
Overview: As a real estate professional, your asset protection planning must extend beyond protecting personal assets by leveraging statutory exemptions. You also must carefully plan and implement asset protection strategies for your business as well. Mark will discuss the most appropriate entity is the first step in the process.
If you are in business for yourself, that business is likely to be your riskiest undertaking. Therefore, Mark will discuss the organizational form in which your business is conducted. Although you can choose to run your business as a sole proprietorship, partnership, corporation or limited liability company (LLC), in most cases the LLC will offer the most effective protection for both your personal assets outside the business and your investment in the business itself.
