I am looking to hear about how mildly experienced to extremely experienced investors structure their businesses and teams. Do you have assistants, do you consider bringing property management in house, etc etc? Are they part time or full time? Any and all information is much appreciated.
Folks like Jake & Gino have brought property management in house. It's definitely the right fit for some businesses. Typically if you're bringing on your first assistant, I would plan to start with an independent contractor arrangement. Part time v full time really comes down to your workload. If you start an assistant part time, can you give them enough responsibilities to bring them full time so you can focus on working on the business rather than in it?
Thanks for your feedback taylor. Do people bring on asset managers as they grow larger? Acquisition managers? At what point do you generally see people start to do this? I am assuming it would be different for everyone it just depends on workload but would like to hear your input.
