Short term furnished home-where to find renters

Rachna Condos
Posted Jul 18 2024, 21:04

Purchasing a house in Bremerton, WA but we live in Nevada. I would like to rent it out to traveling nurses or corporate rentals since there is a very large Navy Base there and also 2 hospitals. Any ideas besides frunishedfinders as to where I can find these folks?wa

@Rachna Condos

You can try contacting the local hospitals and other relocation professionals that assist new employees finding housing. There will also be other corporations in Seattle that will also need temporary housing for executives and the like that can take the ferry. Why not use furnish finder?

@Rachna Condos Honestly I would use Zillow. Furnished Finder is kind of the worst in my opinion. I tried it in three different markets and never got anything from them. If you just put it on Zillow and list it as a furnished rental and then just write that you are open to different lease options, a lot of people should reach out to you. Sometimes its nurses but it casts a wide net so you get all types of people who might need a mid term rental.

In addition to all of the short term platforms we use Zillow and FF for the more midterm friendly properties.

Contact the hospital and the base, also there should be the board for the nurses. However, the hospital there is pretty small and not sure if the traffic is big enough. For summer, WA state hires firefighters and we rented out at AirBnB for 4 months. There is no harm to have your listing there too just set the limit for your stay.

I would suggest Googling for travel nurse job postings in Bremerton, WA and look at the companies who are posting those listings. Those are the organizations that are highly likely also going to support finding their hires a place to live and if you can connect with them and become a preferred vendor, you've cut out the middle man i.e. furnished finder. I would also take a listen to the BP podcast episode 780 with Jesse Vasquez he's got a great approach to MTRs and targeting traveling nurses and doctors.
