Guest asking for a W9. Should I give it to him?

A guest staying at my AirBnB is saying his company requires him to get  W-9 from any rental he stays at. Will this be an issue for me come tax time?

AirBnB already reports my rental income from what I understand. If his company issues me a 1099, it seems like my income will be reported twice, and it will look like I got more than I actually did. The guest is threatening to cancel if I don't provide him with the W-9. Has anyone come across this before?
