Newbie seeking wholesaler guidance

Sabian Powell
Posted Jan 11 2023, 09:13

Hi everyone, I have been listening to the podcast non stop and pushed myself to post in the fourums, Are there any wholesalers, past or present, that wouldn’t mind answering a bunch of “well how do I do this” questions from an aspiring investor? I am ready to dive in, I am pumped, and I just need some one to be there when google just isn’t specific enough. A little about me: 24f in western KY married & working nights currently. My spouse is excited aswell but has analysis paralysis creeping in on him. So I’m taking the first step. I want to do a few wholesales to save up money for a juicy down payment on our first investment property. So let me know if you would be interested in helping a newbie out!

Hey Sabian, welcome to BiggerPockets! I think it is important to try to find a mentor who is doing what you want to do.

I like to try to set up every month a meeting with someone I think I can learn from or who could be a potential mentor. Try to attend your local REI networking groups and meetups. Connect with as many real estate investors as you can.

You can also consult with lenders, brokers and ask them for suggestions on who might be a good real estate mentor most will be able to provide one.

Try to think of different ways you can add value to that person. What are your strengths? For example are you experienced in social media marketing? Could you offer a mentor some tips? This way its not just a one way street.
