Hello everyone. I am currently in Nashville, TN but will be relocating to Chicago at the end of the calendar year. My wife and I collectively own two properties, both condos in Nashville area. One is our current residence, and the other my wife became an accidental landlord when she moved in with me while we were still dating. I'd like to reach finical independence (like everyone else) and hope to do that through building as mostly passive investment portfolio as well by building a business so I can leave the 8-5 J.O.B. that while I don't hate it, I also am not excited about anymore. Looking forward to meeting the community and learning.

@Mike Hickey Welcome to Chicago. Write down the goals on paper and then a list of tasks with deadlines to accomplish them. This is important to get rid of that JOB.
Welcome to BP nation. This is an awesome place and a great community!
If I may ask, where are your condos currently located? From my experience the HOA fees on condos in the Nashville area are so steep that they erode cash flow and end up being not so great investments.
@Mike Hickey , welcome to BP, a great community of wonderful people ready to help!
One option for you is to buy a 3-4 flat in the city or suburbs that you can live for free while the tenants pay for the entire mortgage!
