Complete Novice Investor in the North of England, UK

Hi all 

My name is Matthew Sutton, I'm from the North of England in the UK. 

I'm looking to learn about real estate and to try and increase my knowledge on the subject. I am looking to get my first buy to let by the end of this year.

I am a involved in health care as my day to day job.

If anyone could also point me in the right direction on the forum to get more information about real estate investing specifically looking at the UK I would greatly appreciate it. Alot of the info is transferable from the US but we don't have things like 1031exchanges (unfortunately) and our laws are slightly different.
