My first deal. Single family home converting to a duplex!

I just bought a single family home and am living it it with my family, however since finding bigger pockets I can not get the image of converting this 3 bed two full bath into a duplex of sorts.
First step is go to the county and see how much it would be to get it rezoned to a multi family home.
Any tips, advice or criticism is wanted!
