Investing in Real Estate at a young age

I am 19 year old college student living in Louisiana who has had an interest in real estate investing. I have currently been doing my research for weeks now. This includes BP podcasts several books and looking through forms. I would like to start investing in rent houses as soon as possible. Any tips/advice on how to really get started, being that I am so young without any real experience?

@Nicholas Nelams Welcome! Glad you are already engaged with BP as that's definitely a great step forward. @James E. has two very great points. I would like to add some insight as I am very familiar with his second point. If you are looking to immerse yourself in real estate investing there is no better way to do it than working in the industry.

This will allow you to see multiple deals all the time and allow you to build up transactions under your belt. Look around for investor friendly agents or brokerages that specifically service investors. You will learn a lot very quickly. Another great way to do this is attending local investor meetups. This has brought a lot of great value to me personally as everyone is very friendly and willing to help.

Best of luck with your endeavors!
