Tracking down owners of vacant properties

6 Replies

Hey BP,

I'm in the process of tracking down the contact information of an owner of a vacant house down the street from me. I've already been on the county assessors website and pulled the name of the owner, however I am having a hard time finding a phone number or if the person is even still alive for that matter. I've tried to run the name through the white pages and similar websites but the information is blurred out and the website is requiring I purchase a subscription to view the information. I am cautious to purchase one because I am unsure of the accuracy.

Does anyone have any suggestions on another resource I should try or should I just bite the bullet and purchase a subscription?

@Blaine Alger how does the county list the property, if it is listed as owner occupied you will probably have problems if not you should have an address to mail to, usually you can find phone numbers unblurred if you just keep looking or one will blur half the number. and one site will blur the first half and another the second half

@Aaron K. The property is listed as owner occupied but I know for certain it is abandoned. I’m worried that guy is dead and in that case I’m not sure what to do. I’ll keep looking on other sites to try to find the 2nd half of the number. Thanks for the input.

@Blaine Alger

I would use It requires no membership and is very accurate. It will even link you to potential relatives, if this is an estate situation.

Good Luck!
