Hello everyone!
My name is Steven
and I'm from Portalnd OR. I'm new to real estate investing but I
have background in construction estimation, especially remodels and
new construction. Our company specializes in carpet,
hardwood/laminate, granite/quartz and many other surfaces. Primarily
we work with builders and retail clients. I have a BS in Aeronautics
from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, I manage IT side of the
business and invest into cryptocurrencies on the side. I've never
invested into real estate; it seems that all successful people have
real estate in their portfolio therefore I'm eager to learn more
and network with people in this niche. My dream is to create enough
passive income to retire before 65 and I think real estate can make
this possible. Currently I'm reading BRRRR book by David Green and
it's been really helpful, this is my first real estate related book
so if anyone knows other must reads let me know!

Congrats on making the leap, you've already done a lot more than most! Honestly, all the BP books are great but I think it depends on what type of investing you want to do. I would check out Brandon Turner's books (beginner's guide... and property management). There is a local investors group called Rarebird that is great. Membership is around $350 per year with monthly meetings, the first one is free.

Thank you @Brad Hammond , I was going to get this book as it's mentioned couple of times in BRRRR book i'm reading. My primary goal is to buy and hold and ultimately generate cash flow. I have signed up for the upcoming BRRRR class in December on rarebird, hopefully it will be good, looking forward to it!
