So, how does one become a Moderator for Bigger Pockets? Are there qualifications? Are you just chosen or interviewed?

Back from the dead! I think most of the moderators are actually cream puffs. If you had friends that were shut down I would guess they were doing something pretty egregious, as it is rare that someone gets the boot without a chance to self-correct first. And even the boot is only temporary the first time around. Most likely is that the person(s) know why they were shut down - most common is either consistent trolling or spamming or a concerted effort to push a product/products outside the marketplace, often trying to be sneaky such as talking about "Hey, what do you think about SEYED KAPITOLL" when they are really shills for such organization. The staff and moderators aren't dumb and see exactly what is going on when people try that. Just to give you fair warning, since you seem to be interested in such posts from 11 years ago.
