attempting to create an event

Hello,

I am attempting to create an event. However, in the event portion only US and Canada are available in the drop down. Is is possible to create an event in another country? As I am in  Japan it would be helpful to have a drop down menu with more countries available. If it is not available could there be an update implemented in creating events section @Mindy Jensen. 

On a separate note does anyone know of meet ups on Okinawa? I have already attempted the events page.
