Interested to hear what everyone would accept as far as cap rate/ROI for a duplex where some renovations ($25k worth) are needed and then renting the place out as a long term investment. Thanks
This is an investment so it needs to be looked at from risk/reward perspective. If appreciation is not expected or it is risky area then reward in terms of ROI should be higher. If appreciation is expected or it is highly desirable area then lower ROI is expected. Of course, age of the building should be considered too (read: maintenance issues).
