Any fellow NC real estate brokers make the jump to sole proprietor and no longer with a firm? Would you be willing to share how you got started/steps?
Sole proprietor is more of a tax term. Example being filing as a sole proprietor if you don' t have a proper LLC or other corporation formed and filed correctly.
If you mean operating your own brokerage then you can do that if you are Broker In Charge eligible. If not, you will still need a BIC to operate your own firm. It is done fairly simply, you will just need to follow the steps as guidelines by the NCREC.
Thank you for your response. To go solo and not be under a firm, what would be my first steps? Is it a simple process? Thanks in advance.
