Need help selling my land

I have 6.4 acres of land in Lonoke County I want to sell. After talking to the courthouse on getting all my paperwork they tell me that a house my uncle had on the property has $6,339 in back taxes in his name. They tell me I can not sell my land unless I pay his back taxes. Is there a way I can get around this?
