I'm curious about buying properties at Auction, but I don't know much about how it works here in Will County and DuPage County. Does anyone have any experience with buying at these two counties auctions that they would be willing to share? I'm looking to understand how it works and what I need to do in order to protect myself when buying at Auction. Or is there a meet up group that discusses buying at auctions?

I'd also be interested in hearing more about this topic. I've looked into sheriff auctions in Kendall county, but not sure it's the same elsewhere.

I saw there was meetup on this yesterday in Oak Brook by the Chicago REIA that I couldn't attend. Hopefully I can make the next one.

My best advice would be to go to one and see how it is. There are differences between Will and DuPage. They only take about an hour. Look up a couple properties and play along in your head.
Biggest piece of advice: Will county court DOES NOT ALLOW PHONES. So make sure you leave it in your car, it's frustrating being late because you don't know the rules. DuPage is fine with phones though.
