Tree Removal & Painters in Columbia, SC?

Columbia, South Carolina Investors:

1) Can anyone recommend a reasonable tree removal company?  I've gotten two $3800+ estimates on a tree that should be about 1/2 to 2/3 that price.  Not sure whether or not it's because I'm getting prices during summer when everybody is getting trees cut down.

2) Can anyone recommend a good painting company/crew for large exterior projects?  I've got a lot of rentals downtown that have wood siding/trim.  Need somebody who can do great prep work prior to painting.  Been hard to find painters I don't have to watch over the entire time.
