I’m 18 and looking to actively invest in real estate.
I already have a place to live so I don’t need to buy a duplex and live in one rent the other.
I’m not sure if I should focus on single or multi-family.
To be fair I like multi much more but again it is more complicated for a beginner.
What’s your opinion?
Hi @Ivan Kadagidze , I would suggest purchasing a duplex. It isn't really that much more work than a single-family home. You will need to create your systems around maintenance, rent collection, leases, etc. but once you have that you will apply it 2 units instead of 1. In my experience duplexes aren't that much more money than a single-family so you might as well go bigger for your first property.
