ALABAMA DEPT OF REVENUE ISSUES
Hello,
My issue is that i have not had any feedback from the Alabama Dept of Revenue after requesting a tax deed quote directly from their website. I didnt receive a confirmation email of my request as the website says and you cant reach anyone at the phone number. Is there anyone who has experience working with them? The price request was sent weeks ago and ive received no communication back from them. Any feedback or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
They are probably overwhelmed. Before the wholesalers started inundating them with price quote requests, hundreds at a time in hopes of flipping at least one quote, the average price request volume was around 1,600 per month. They are now well over 20,000 a month with no increase in personnel. That is because there is no increase in revenues because most of the requests never result in a sale. You are probably 20 or 30 in line, with each person ahead of you taking up 20 days per request. You'd be better off tracking down former owners and redeeming. Same price, faster results.
Hi Denise, thanks for the info. Could you please explain what you mean by redeeming?
the price quote response request has changed from 21 days to 10 days…. Try calling the Dept of rev and asking where you are in line for the quote you submitted. The number is public info
As stated above, you cannot get in touch with anyone there.
@Tai, you are right, but they always allowed an extra 10 days for "in transit" time. Just because the quote is good for 10 days does not mean they automatically go to the next person on Day 11.
Denise, can i give you a call offline?
im at 513 601 2920, please call at your convenience

I received information that for most of my applications there are between 60 and 170 applicants ahead of me - this adds a few more years. So I wish I was 20 or 30 in line. :) Even with only 10 days until expiration, it can still take up to 4 weeks. In my particular case ADOR had to wait on the county's response with the current amount.
ADOR price request volume in February 2022 was over 26,000. As of March 28, 2022, the request volume for the MONTH was over 45,000.
