Better rental - new medium-sized home or 30-year old large home?

Hello all. I am considering investing in the North Austin/Cedar Park area. Which would make a better rental property - a brand new, medium-sized home on a relatively small lot with lots of features and "trendy" interior, or a large, older home with a distinctly 90's vibe? I realize it's impossible to say for sure without seeing the actual properties, but I'm more interested in the general discussion. Which would be better for buy-and-hold, cash flow, etc.?
