I'm in the market for a multi-unit rental property along the Wasatch Front, searching between (more or less) West Jordan and Ogden, but I don't currently have a property manager. I've reached out to two so far, one mentioned they charge 10% of rent but neither seem to be very interested until I have closed on a place (or gotten close to it)

So to any BiggerPockets members, (a) do you know a property manager in the area you highly recommend, and/or (b) how much do property managers in the area charge?

10% is about average. Typically I see 8-12%.  Reeder asset management is great. I also think Kristen with equity is really wonderful.  You have to look at the big picture when comparing different management companies.  Not only the percentage they charge monthly.  I look at guarantees  they may offer, lease up fees, if they charge each time there is a maintenance call, how they communicate, programs they use etc. 

I work with Rize Property Management for all my rentals, in both Salt Lake and Weber counties.  The 10% is well worth it! @Jon Neviaser
